CPC Employees Commit to Get Fit to Raise Money for
Guide Dogs for the Blind
It is now all systems go for a team of caring and committed employees from leading pet crematorium, CPC, as they start an intensive training and fundraising campaign in preparation for a charity challenge in September.
The team from Cambridge, who call themselves ‘The Caring Daring’, will take part in the demanding Coniston Adventure Team Challenge in the Lake District. In just 10 hours they will hike up the eight mile ‘Old Man of Coniston’, cycle 12 miles of rough terrain through Grizedale Forest and paddle a course on Coniston Water to raise thousands of pounds for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The five person CPC team, comprising Emma Harvey, marketing co-ordinator, Becky Markillie, marketing assistant, Helen Scott, customer services manager, and account managers Alistair Hudson and Shirley Scott will have their stamina and teamwork tested in one of the most beautiful and rugged parts of the Lake District.
Although some individual training is already underway, ‘The Caring Daring’ start their intensive team training sessions on May 1st. In addition to team circuit training the enthusiastic group will be spending days together canoeing, Saturday afternoons hiking on the nearest hills and fitting in 12 mile bike rides after work.
The team’s fundraising activities are mostly work-based, however they will also be seen in and around Cambridge over the next few months, shaking a box outside local supermarkets.
Team Leader Becky Markillie said: “The Coniston Challenge is a great way for us to raise money for a charity that we all feel passionately about and we aim to exceed the £2,500 minimum the charity requires by a wide margin!”
CPC is the UK’s leading pet crematorium providing a range of compassionate services to veterinary practices and their clients. The company has worked with veterinary practices and animal welfare charities for over 25 years and is a strong advocate for providing professional bereavement support and care.
