Raising awareness of pet bereavement
As well as providing services to individuals, CPC also works to raise awareness of the importance of understanding pet bereavement. Over the years, we have educated veterinary nurses on the subject of pet bereavement, sponsored Absent Friend, a book which aims to provide both practical advice and support to pet owners, and produced many articles on pet bereavement.
How you can help
There are many different ways you can help including:
- talking to others about your experience
- making a donation to The Pet Bereavement Support Service
- writing a tribute or poem and publishing it online
- training to become a pet bereavement counsellor
- volunteering as a befriender for The Pet Bereavement Support Service
CPC is a member of the Society for Companion Animal Studies and the Vetinary Practice Management Association.
