Four feet in heaven

Four Feet in Heaven

Your favorite chair is vacant now…
No eager purrs to greet me.
No softly padded paws to run
Ecstatically to meet me.

No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry
Will say it’s time for feeding.
I’ve put away your bowl, and all
The things you won’t be needing;

But I will miss you little friend,
For I could never measure
The happiness you brought me,
The comfort and the pleasure.

And since God put you here to share
In earthly joy and sorrow;
I’m sure there’ll be a place for you
In Heaven’s bright tomorrow…

If you liked this poem here are some of our favourites:

Lend me a pup Lend me a pup
A bridge called love A bridge called love
If I should go tomorrow If I should go tomorrow
When God saw you getting tired When God saw you getting tired
Let Me Go Let Me Go
I felt an angel I felt an angel
He Is Gone He Is Gone
Don't Cry When I am Gone Don't Cry When I am Gone
Feel no guilt in laughter Feel no guilt in laughter

    This is so lovely. We just lost our beautiful girl Ruby at 6 and feel heartbroken. What a lovely verse.
